Gyms in Bonita Springs, FL (2026): Every Option, Honestly Compared
Bonita Springs lost Crunch, LA Fitness, Alloy and Anytime Fitness in about eighteen months and gained Gold's and Athletica. Here is every gym in town in 2026, with hours, prices and who each one is for.

If you searched "gyms in Bonita Springs" and clicked a list that still mentions Crunch, LA Fitness or Alloy, you were reading about a town that no longer exists. In about eighteen months Bonita Springs lost four gyms and gained two big ones, and most of the roundups online never caught up. This is the current picture as of September 2026, with every address, hour and price taken from each gym's own website on the day I wrote it.
Quick disclosure, as always: I run Galaxy Fit Lab, a private personal-training studio in North Naples about ten minutes south of Bonita Beach Road. I'm not affiliated with any gym below, and I'll be honest about where a big club is the better choice.
The short version
Want a full club with courts, classes and a sauna: Athletica or Gold's Gym, both on Bonita Beach Road, both open 24 hours.
Want the lowest price: Planet Fitness from $15 a month, or Smash Fitness at about $43 a month with real free weights and 24-hour access.
Want a pool and family programs: the Bonita Springs YMCA.
Want coached group classes: Ionic CrossFit and Bonita Boot Camp on Old 41. Orangetheory's nearest studio is in Estero.
Want a coach, a written program and a small room: that is what a private studio is for, and there hasn't been one inside Bonita Springs since Alloy closed. More on that at the end.
What closed, and what took the space
This is the part most lists get wrong, so it comes first.
Crunch Fitness (3306 Bonita Beach Rd) closed in July 2025 when it chose not to renew its lease. Members were moved to Smash Fitness, and Gold's Gym now occupies the building.
LA Fitness / Esporta (8951 Bonita Beach Rd SE) closed, and Athletica Health & Fitness opened in the space.
Alloy Personal Training (24851 S Tamiami Trail, at Old 41 and U.S. 41) opened in February 2025 and has since closed. It was the only small-group personal-training studio in town. I wrote about where former Alloy members went.
Anytime Fitness (24850 Old 41 Rd) is listed as closed as of September 2026. Call before you drive over.
Full-service clubs
Gold's Gym Bonita Springs
3306 Bonita Beach Rd, Bonita Springs, FL 34134 · (239) 419-0009
Open 24 hours. Staffed Monday to Wednesday and Friday 8 AM to 8 PM, Thursday 8 AM to noon, Saturday 8 AM to 4 PM, Sunday 8 AM to 2 PM. Strength and cardio floor, free weights, classes including yoga and cycling, and personal training. Gold's doesn't publish membership prices for this club; there's a free pass on the club page, which is the sensible way to see it. This is the former Crunch building, and it's the closest thing Bonita has to a classic weight-training gym. I covered the opening in Gold's Gym Bonita Springs: everything to know.
Athletica Health & Fitness
8951 Bonita Beach Rd SE, Suite 560, Bonita Springs, FL 34135 · (239) 301-2656
Open 24 hours, staffed Monday to Friday 7 AM to 11 PM and weekends 7 AM to 9 PM. The amenity list is the longest in town: a full basketball court, three indoor pickleball courts, a glute room, sauna and steam room, a recovery room with massage chairs, a movie cardio room, a juice bar, more than 30 live classes on the schedule, personal training, and free childcare for ages six months to twelve years. A cold plunge and hot tub are still listed as coming soon. Pricing isn't published; there's a free three-day pass. If you want one membership that covers the whole family and a place to spend two hours, this is it. Full details in Athletica Bonita Springs: hours, address and amenities.
Budget and 24-hour gyms
Smash Fitness Bonita Springs
9110 Bonita Beach Rd SE, Bonita Springs, FL 34135 · (239) 362-2641
Open 24 hours, seven days. About 14,000 square feet of free weights, machines and cardio, plus infrared saunas, classes included with membership, a smoothie bar and personal training. The All Access plan is $19.99 every two weeks, which works out to roughly $43 a month, and it covers every Smash location in Southwest Florida; a prepaid year is $449.99. For serious lifting on a budget this is the strongest value on the list, and it's where Crunch sent its members in 2025.
Planet Fitness Bonita Springs
11601 Bonita Beach Rd, Bonita Springs, FL 34135
The cheapest door in town: the Classic membership starts at $15 a month, and the Black Card tier adds guest privileges, massage chairs, tanning and access to any club. Plenty of machines and cardio, limited free weights, and no traditional classes. Right for a beginner who wants a clean, low-pressure place to walk on a treadmill and learn the machines; wrong for anyone who wants a squat rack. Hours vary by day, so check the club page.
Community options
Bonita Springs YMCA
27200 Kent Rd, Bonita Springs, FL 34135 · (239) 221-7560
Monday to Thursday 5 AM to 9 PM, Friday 5 AM to 8 PM, Saturday 7 AM to 6 PM, Sunday 8 AM to 5 PM. A pool, a fitness center and weight room, a gymnasium, group classes, child watch and outdoor fields. Membership prices aren't on the website; ask at the front desk. The only option here with a pool, and the obvious pick for families and swimmers.
Bonita Springs Recreation Center
26740 Pine Ave, Bonita Springs, FL
The city's own center: a full gymnasium and a cardio and fitness room, open Monday to Thursday 6 AM to 8 PM, Friday 6 AM to 5 PM, Saturday 8 AM to 4 PM, closed Sunday, on an annual membership or a daily fee. Modest equipment, but for a resident who wants a treadmill and a few machines it is hard to beat the price.
Classes and specialty studios
Ionic CrossFit and Bonita Boot Camp
24850 Old 41 Rd, Suite 22, Bonita Springs, FL 34135 · (239) 949-2250
Two names that share the same room and phone number: coached CrossFit classes and a boot-camp format at the Old 41 plaza. If you like a scheduled class, a coach in the room and a community that notices when you miss a week, this is the closest thing in town to how a training studio works.
Orangetheory
There is no Orangetheory in Bonita Springs. The nearest studio is in Estero at Estero Town Commons, about fifteen minutes north on U.S. 41.
There are also a couple of Pilates studios in town. They're a different product from a gym, so I've left them out of the comparison.

If you want a coach rather than a membership
Every gym above sells access to a room. That is the right purchase for a lot of people, and if you're self-directed and consistent, a $43 Smash membership will get you further than any studio. Where the model breaks is the person who joins a club in January, goes eleven times, and is still paying in June. Those people don't need a better gym; they need someone expecting them on Tuesday at 7 and a program that tells them what to do when they walk in.
Since Alloy closed there isn't a small-group training studio inside Bonita Springs, which is why a handful of my clients drive down from Bonita and Estero. Galaxy Fit Lab is at 13500 Tamiami Trail N in North Naples, about ten minutes south of Bonita Beach Road on U.S. 41. It's appointment-only: one-on-one sessions, or small groups capped at four people, every session coached, every client on a written program that's tracked week to week. Pricing is public: one-on-one from $79 a session in a 24-session package ($99 for a single session), small-group memberships from $320 a month for two sessions a week, and a $40 drop-in class if you want to try one before deciding. Every new client starts with a free consultation.
It is not the right choice if you want to train five days a week on your own schedule, want a pool or a sauna, or need childcare. It is the right choice if what you've been missing is coaching and accountability rather than equipment. The Bonita Springs page covers what the drive looks like in practice.
How to choose
Be honest about the last year. If you held a membership you didn't use, the fix is not a nicer membership.
Take the free pass. Gold's, Athletica and Planet Fitness all offer one. Go at the hour you'd actually train, not at 2 PM on a Tuesday.
Price the year, not the month. Enrollment and annual fees vary between clubs, and a prepaid year at Smash is $449.99 while a private studio's 24-session package is $1,896. Neither number is wrong; they buy different things.
